Ming Tong has a degree in environmental sculpture from the Tianjin Academy of Fine Arts in China.

Since 1994 he lives and works in Lille, France, as an independent artist. he specializes in painting, calligraphy and sculpture. He teaches art and sculpture at the Ecole Supérieure d'Art in Tourcoing and Arras since 1996. He also conceptualises urban art creations in China on a regular basis.

Today, Tong Ming mainly focusses on ceramics because of his affinity with natural materials, especially clay. As a sculptor he likes volume, where roundness goes hand in hand with softness. He searches his inspiration in the basic techniques he developed through study on the one hand and experience on the other.

His creations are the result of inspiration taken both from Western and Chinese culture, characterized by humor, beauty and serenity. He has had various solo and group exhibitions in France, Belgium, the Netherlands and China.
