Miguel Rivera is a Belgian-Spanish artist who resides between Paris, Brussels and Madrid. He has been painting and drawing since the age of 5 and quickly became interested in abstract art, minimalism and the study of colors. With a mother who worked in fashion for a long time, Miguel has always been intrigued by the complexity of different materials, textures and colors associated with textiles. Construction and structuration of material is a very culminant aspect of his abstract paintings and his latest work "LAYERS" -as the name suggests- is a tribute to the mixtures of colors and textures that are formed by the improvised superposition of several layers of paint. On a visit to a New York commercial gallery in 2015, an enormous dark blue canvas captivated his imagination and impressed Miguel with the power of pure colour. He has been creating ever since.
Miguel is also very involved in the world of music in which he works as an artistic director alongside several artists such as Lous & Thé Yakuza, herself a painter.
